This is a short cut to the original Hungarian recipe, but it is as tasty. It is the way I make it.

Chicken Paprika

Ingredients:

½ KG Chicken thighs cut into pieces
1 capsicum
1 Large onion chopped
1 can of chopped tomatoes
1 fresh tomato chopped
½ spoon of Vegeta
2 spoons of paprika
1 glove of garlic crushed
¼ cup of oil
Add salt and pepper to taste.

Method:

Place oil in large pan and when hot add onions. When the onions are slightly glassy looking add garlic and paprika. Continually stir until paprika is really dark (just off burning).
Add chicken and stir well. Now add capsicum, tomatoes, vegeta and cook slowly until sauce thickens and chicken is cooked. (If sauce won’t thicken a thickener can be added e.g. large spoon of flour mixed to a smooth paste with water then slowly added to the chicken. It may change the red colour.)
Add salt and pepper to taste.
